Allahabad: People protest over transfer of SDM, market closed

ALLAHABAD: People of Karchana Tehsil on Tuesday staged protest, demanding to take back transfer of the "honest" sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Raja Ganapati R.Raja is a trainee IAS and had been appointed the Karchana SDM just a month ago. Angry residents of Karchana closed their shops and called up for bandh. They shut down government offices also while traffic was stopped on roads connecting to the Tehsil.The protesters shouted "stop the transfer of SDM first", only then will they move from the spot. Residents of Karchana said that the SDM took lots of action against land and mining mafias and accused some BJP leaders of playing a role in the SDM transfer decision as they were not happy with the "honest" officer.Read this story in Hindi
